The Ultimate Guide to Cheap Eats on the Las Vegas Strip (2026)

Ten years ago, Las Vegas was famous for its $1.99 shrimp cocktails and $5 all-you-can-eat buffets. Those days are entirely gone. With corporate consolidation and massive inflation, a standard sit-down dinner on the Strip will easily cost you over $80 per person. However, if you know where to look, you can still find incredible, filling meals for under $15.

The Death of the Vegas Buffet

Post-pandemic, the majority of the cheap, lower-tier casino buffets permanently closed. The buffets that remain (like the Bacchanal at Caesars Palace or The Buffet at Wynn) have pivoted to ultra-luxury, often charging $85 to $100+ for dinner. If you are on a budget, do not go to a buffet. You will get much better value by visiting high-end fast-casual spots or specialized food halls.

The Best Value: Casino "Hidden" Specials

Casinos still offer "loss leaders" (food sold at a loss to get you in the door to gamble), but they don't advertise them on giant neon signs anymore. You have to ask for them.

  • Ellis Island ($10 Steak Special): Located just one block behind Horseshoe/Bally's, this small casino offers a complete Top Sirloin Steak dinner with garlic green beans, potato, and soup/salad for around $10 (you must sign up for their free player's card to get the price).
  • Ocean One Bar & Grille (Miracle Mile Shops): Every single item on their lunch menu is typically $5.99. Yes, actual sit-down meals like tacos, burgers, and salads. Plus, they run a 3-for-1 cocktail special all day.
  • Casino Royale (Center Strip): Home to the cheapest hot dog on the Strip (around $3) and extremely cheap Michelob Ultra beers.

The Late-Night Slices

After leaving Omnia or XS at 3:00 AM, you don't need a steakhouse; you need carbs. Secret Pizza inside the Cosmopolitan (hidden down a hallway on the 3rd floor with no signs) sells massive, authentic New York-style slices that will cure any hangover before it starts. Alternatively, Pin-Up Pizza at Planet Hollywood offers similar massive slices right on the casino floor.
